APSI Endorsement
Purpose – Identify and Endorse centres for subspecialties in Plastic and Reconstructive surgery for a
period of three years.
APSI is a facilitator between the units and trainees. This will help the trainees and just passed plastic
surgeons, students to identify centres for short term observership/ Fellowships. The rules and
regulation for observership/fellowship will be as per the protocols laid by the centre. The APSI does
not recommend and will not charge the institutes or the students.
These centres will be displayed on the APSI Website.
Regular feedback will be sought from the trainees after they finish their visit. It will also be passed on
to the Unit heads.
A common certificate will be made to be given to the candidate which can be used to submit in their
respective institutions.
The candidates will maintain a log book and take signature from the unit head

Each institute to be represented by the Director/Head/Chief or representative as authorised by the
Institute.
Selection Criteria for Institute representatives
- Should be plastic surgeon M.Ch. or D. N.B. or any other plastic surgery degree recognised by
National Medical Council.
- Should be registered with local medical council with plastic surgery qualification.
- Should be a Member of Association of Plastic Surgeons of India (APSI) in good standing for
at least 5 years.
Centres with high volume and state of the art work in any of the following.
Each centre can apply for one or more subspecialties for APSI endorsement.
- Cleft lip and Palate
- Brachial Plexus and Peripheral nerves
- Breast Reconstruction and Lymphedema
- Trauma
- Onco-reconstruction
- Burns
- Maxillofacial
- Aesthetic
- Hand
To apply,
- Kindly fill in the Google Form Application.
- The forms shall be assessed by a committee of experts in the field.
- The selection committee either visits the centre personally or virtually to confirm availability
of all facilities and claims in the application forms and scores the centre.
- The endorsement will be for a period of three years after which a fresh application will be
required for renewal.
- The results are discussed in the executive committee and decision is taken on the eligibility or
non-eligibility of the centre.
- The results are declared in GBM
- The concerned centre is given a certificate by the APSI in the next APSICON
Endorsement Process-Criteria for Selection
- Centre should have all licenses as required by the local and central government agencies and
National Medical Counsil
- Having recognised M.Ch. and D.N.B. Courses is desirable as a proof of regulatory
requirements but is not sufficient proof of excellence in the desired subspeciality.
- Instruments and equipments available
- It is desirable to have a Library, digital or physical.
- Objective Scoring is done on Academic background of the faculties and facilities available
for the desired subspecialities
a. Number and spectrum of surgical procedures
b. No. of publications in indexed journals
c. No. of Presentations in international and National conferences
- No. of patients in the OPDs
- Training courses/fellowships/teaching modules available in the desired subspecialities
